The Quad Cities (or the QC for short) is a conurbation of cities along the Mississippi river. It is the home of the vigilante Wild Dog.
History
The Quad Cities are Bettendorf and Davenport in Iowa north of the river, and Moline and Rock Island in Illinois in the south. The region's original, small family farms were swallowed up by large agricultural conglomerates, and the resulting unemployment lured larger industry to the cities, eventually allowing it to grow in one large urban area. The cities have a combined population of 300,000 people,[1] but with the immediate hinterland, it's close to half a million.[2]
Local news media include television network KQCW7 and its host Susan King and the Moline News, for which Lou Godder works.[2]
Jack Wheeler (Wild Dog) lives in, and operates a garage in, Rock Island.[2]
