Quimby (Quality Universe)

Quimby was a criminal who was involved in the Green Street Tunnel Scandal with Edgar Aldington, Harrison Walsh and Mr. Sims. Seven years after the scandal Aldington was declared legally dead by the court and his will, given to James Connell, mentioned that his three heirs (Quimby, Walsh and Sims) should be given the three keys to the vault underneath Aldington Mansion at midnight.

When the three heirs, along with Quicksilver and Connell, arrived at Aldington Mansion they were given their keys and Connell read out the will, specifying that the heirs would share the contents of the vault equally. Shortly afterwards the lights went out and Quimby used the opportunity to stab Sims with a penknife. As the remaining group of men went down the stairs to the basement in the dark Quimby once again used the opportunity and pushed Walsh to his death. As the last remaining heir Quimby opened the vault, only to be held at gunpoint by a veiled figure.

Quicksilver used a rope on the floor to whip the gun out of the veiled figure's hands and chased after him, eventually revealing him to be Edgar Aldington. Aldington revealed that he had lured the three men to the mansion to give Quimby the chance of killing Walsh and Sims out of greed, only to kill Quimby himself once Sims and Walsh were dead. Quimby confessed to the murders of Sims and Walsh and the pair were apprehended by Quicksilver.

Notes

This version of Quimby, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022–2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
