R. Lee Ermey (b. March 24, 1944 – d.April 15, 2018) was an American actor who portrayed General Ferris in the episode "Second Chance" of the series Human Target and voiced Wildcat for the animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
Ermey is the apparent inspiration for the Green Lantern character Ermey. This is based on the character's position as the Green Lantern Corp's drill sergeant and his dialogue mirroring Ermey's more notable roles in film, notably Full Metal Jacket, which were drawn from his personal history as a staff sergeant and gunnery sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
