Ra's al Ghul is an almost-immortal, pro-environment supervillain. Reportedly one of Batman's most dangerous foes.
History
A mysterious man has been trying to find the hidden Lazarus Pits that are spread throughout the world. Ra's al Ghul realized what was happening and ordered the League of Shadows to close the pits before they could be used by the outsider. To keep himself safe, he stole Bane's identity and abducted Ra's al Ghul from one of the previous Lazarus sites. Ra's knew he wasn't the real Bane, but instead of confronting his captor, he willingly went along in this wild goose chase to find the remaining Lazarus Pit. His daughter, Talia, gathered Batman and the Mystery Inc. to track down the Bane imposter. Once rescued, Ra's revealed he wasn't in any real danger, he only went along because he found the situation amusing.[1]
Ra's al Ghul was later summoned by Bat-Mite to a supervillain convention alongside his daughter. Both were defeated by Batman Family once they arrived to stop the event.[2]
Some time after his previous defeat, Ra's al Ghul regathered the League of Shadows to iniciate a new plan: set off electro-magnetic pulses throughout the world. His first strike, according to Ra's al Ghul's own words, would occur "on the other side of the world, in the heart of Batman". After further investigating, Batman solved this riddle by locating Ra's in a turkish city called Batman. He brought reinforcements to help take down the League of Shadows, but they were still outnumbered. It was up to the Mystery Inc. to confront Ra's and stop his plans. Daphne faced Ra's al Ghul in a sword fight, using her skills in fencing to at least defend herself and distract Ra's long enough to Velma and Fred sabotage the E.M.P. machine, causing it fry itself upon activation. Ra's al Ghul acknowledged his defeat and willingly surrendered.[3]
