Synopsis for "Hark, the Herald Angel Sings"
The Mother tells her children that Earth was destroyed due to different factions refusing to resolve their differences. In the year 2120, the Mithraic order announced to its followers that the god Sol had finally revealed to them that the fifth force of nature existed. Announcing it was time to cleanse the Earth to prepare for its coming by killing the atheists, they revealed the killer androids called Necromancers.
Later, two Atheist soldiers on the front-lines of Boston spotted one of the Necromancers flying in the sky. Believing it to be a naked woman, a soldier took a look with his binoculars. Both the soldiers were quickly killed when the Necromancer sung. Regardless from how the Necromancers were first constructed, Atheists deployed destructive bombs in response to them. But their desperate attempt was unsuccessful and left the Earth uninhabitable.
Back on Kepler-22b, Campion accidentally burns his family's crops while playing with his siblings using burning dolls. As Mother and Father punish the children by clearing the field, Mother states that they need an alternative method since punishing never works. When Father suggests that they make up a boogeyman, Mother thinks up a plan to scare the children by telling them that the Necromancers are attracted to bad children.
Mother's plan works and the children get terrified, but Campion gets scared after hearing a strange voice in his dreams, due to Mother and Father telling him that a Necromancer's voice is deadly. Mother runs to his side and admits that they lied and tells him to go back to sleep. Campion requests her to sing the strange song she often sings as it causes him to become sleepy and she fulfils his wish. The scene then shifts to a Necromancer causing destruction with its singing.
