The Raven was a British criminal mastermind who stole scientific formulas and defense plans.
History
In 1938 the Raven and his gang stole the secret formula for Ronald Wainwright's invisibility-inducing process. He administered the treatment on himself and became invisible, but was pursued and arrested by one of Scotland Yard's most effective detectives, Inspector Kent.
In 1939 the Raven regained his liberty and embarked on a new plan.

- This version of the Raven, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
- Per page 3 panel 8 of Detective Comics #19, the Raven is a physically-fit youngish man. We are never shown his real face.
