In the 1950s, the Red Executioner was hired by General Gorr of Prav, to assassinate the Blackhawks. He failed, and apparently perished.

History

In 1953, the dictator of Prav hired the Red Executioner to assassinate the military leader of neighboring Brovina, on the same day that his infantry and armor invaded the little nation. The Blackhawk Squadron unexpectedly showed up, and utterly defeated the regular Pravian Army, but the Red Executioner did carry out his part of the project, and wanted his $100,000. General Gorr was unable to pay up due to the invasion's failure, but his counter-offer was: $1 million apiece, for killing all of the Blackhawks.

The Red Executioner accepted this deal and made a series of unsuccessful attempts to pick off individual Blackhawks, until ultimately they were able to hunt him down and put him out of business. Once his defeat was obvious to all present, the Red Executioner sprinted over the edge of a cliff and plunged from sight.

• This version of the Red Executioner, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
• The Red Executioner goes over a cliff at the end of the story, but the Blackhawks don't check to see if he went splat or not.
