Red Jack was a bizarre being who claimed to be God.

History

Jack's origins are obscure but he existed for a long time sustaining himself on the pain of others, in particular a large collection of butterflies he kept alive pinned to a wall in his interdimensional mansion. Sometime after the Doom Patrol defeated the Scissormen he kidnapped the comatose Rhea Jones in order to wed and father a child by her. The Doom Patrol managed to enter his lair but both Cliff Steele and Rebis were overpowered by him until Crazy Jane released his collection of pinned butterflies. Losing the main source of pain that empowered him Jack was weakened, allowing Rhea to momentarily awaken and kill him by stabbing him with his own knife.

Notes

• Red Jack also claimed to be Jack the Ripper as well as the creator of the universe.
