Regina King is an award-winning American actress and director, known for her various roles in film and television. Some of her most notable performances include Dana Jones in Friday, Huey Freeman on The Boondocks, and Lydia Adams on Southland.
King portrayed Erika Murphy on The Leftovers, an HBO series co-created by Damon Lindelof. After the series concluded, Lindelof brought her on as Angela Abar on Watchmen, his HBO TV miniseries meant to act as a sequel to the classic comic story. The series received widespread acclaim, with particular attention directed to King's performance, earning her Best Actress for a Limited Series at the 72nd Primetime Emmys.
