Synopsis for "Dark Alliances"
In Las Vegas, the Phantom Stranger visits Zatanna. They talk about Lilith calling all monsters back to Hell. He tells Zatanna to keep an eye on the newer heroes. Later at Stonehenge, Zatanna meets with other members of the Telestic Council. They include Detective Chimp, Doctor Fate, Marvel, and Zauriel. The Council discusses the war in Hell, its potential consequences, and whether to get involved.
At the Labyrinth, the Seventh Province and prison of Hell, Etrigan leads Neron's army against Purgatory's forces. Satanus, Blaze, and their advisors observe the battle. Meanwhile, Belial and Lilith criticize Asmodel's ability to run Hell's defenses.
At the Oblivion Bar, Nightshade finds Detective Chimp with a stack of books. He has learned more about Satanus and Blaze. Nightshade explains that her powers, and the Ragman's powers, involve using tormented souls. Hoping to ease the souls' suffering, she intends to align with Satanus and Blaze.
Back in Las Vegas, Blue Devil asks Zatanna to help him get to Hell. He plans to make a deal with Satanus as well.
Thoth interrupts Ibis' homework by appearing on his computer monitor. He tells Ibis to join the war and help Purgatory's coup. If Satanus succeeds, that would help their own war against Set. Ibis refuses and turns off his monitor. His mother calls him to the living room, where Black Alice is waiting.
Zatanna and Blue Devil ask Sargon to help them, and he eventually agrees.
Neron confronts and kills one of his commanders for not winning against Purgatory's forces. Asmodel explains that Neron's subjects lack independent initiative, so they cannot change their actions until they receive new orders. He suggests granting them free will like Satanus' commanders. Neron refuses, and tells him to leave.

Synopsis for "Infernal Agendas"
Doctor Occult meets the Yellow Peri in the Third Province. They are detected and chased by mechanical sentries called the Forge. The Yellow Peri conjures decoys to distract the Forge, and the pair escape. Doctor Occult gives her a ring to use for a location enchantment, and she learns that Rose Psychic is in the Labyrinth.
