Reign in Hell #6 is an issue of the series Reign in Hell (Volume 1) with a cover date of February, 2009.
Synopsis for "To Reign in Hell"
In the Fourth Province of Hell, Praetori, which is the administrative and governance province, Doctor Fate battles Lady Blaze. Lady Blaze taunts him at his lack of focus and experience. This causes him to realize he can focus his power through his amulet and he blasts her. Injured, Lady Blaze directs her minions to attack Fate, but they refuse. Blaze disappears in a flash of light and heat, destroying her minions.
In the First Province of Hell, Pandemonia, which is the dominion and high caste province, Lady Blaze has fled to her brother, Lord Satanus. She asks for Fate’s head and he agrees. Statanus then reveals that the war is mere subterfuge to spread a modified version of DMN, the drug that he has previously used to change humans into demons in Metropolis during his conflict with Superman. He has altered DMN to be an airborne virus which can now do the opposite of its original purpose: transform demons into soulless humans.
In Neron’s throne room, it is revealed that Satanus has disclosed the existence of DMN to Neron. Neron’s advisors wonder if it is a bluff, but Neron sees it as a challenge.
Elsewhere in the First Province, Zatanna Zatara wants revenge on Lobo for forcing her to send the soul of her father, John Zatara, to the Abyss. She uses uncharacteristically violent tactics on Lobo. However, Lobo overpowers her and injures Ibis the Invincible. Zatanna comes to her senses and freezes Lobo with a spell while she heals herself and collects Ibis. She and Sargon the Sorcerer take Ibis with them and go, as it is revealed that Zatanna’s father left her a message in her mind. He has shown her how to get through the Selvage, the barrier between the Provinces of Hell, to the Ninth Province of Hell, Purgatory, which is the secondary damnation province. As they leave, hoping they can find their way, Lobo pledges vengeance.
In the Seventh Province of Hell, the Labyrinth, which is the judiciary and detainment province, Blue Devil (Daniel Cassidy) receives a message from Etrigan that, if Blue Devil serves Etrigan, he will regain his soul. Blue Devil tells himself he will not serve Etrigan as he tries to follow the demon’s trail, regretting having come to Hell in the first place.
In the First Province, Neron challenges Satanus to single combat, broadcasting the fight to all the Provinces of Hell. The magical duel spreads across the Provinces of Hell. Neron outclasses Satanus and, just as Neron is about to kill Satanus, Satanus triggers his trap, speaking aloud the word “Shazam!” which activates the magical version of DMN. All the demons infected with DMN are transformed into humans, including those that Neron absorbed or consumed over the years. Those within Neron are expelled from him, reverting him back to the pitiful demon that he was before his rise to power. With that, Satanus beheads Neron and claims Hell as his own.

Synopsis for "Every Rose Has Its Thorn"
In the Seventh Province of Hell, the Labyrinth, which is the judiciary and detainment province, Doctor Occult (Richard Occult) and Rose Psychic are fighting Hell’s forces as part of Lord Satanus’ army. The battle turns against them. Over Rose’s objections, Occult recklessly teleports them away, and the Yellow Peri redirects them to the Eighth Province of Hell, Err, which is the theological and suppression province. Err is deeper into Hell but away from current hostilities. There they find Linda Danvers, who has been transported to Hell by Lilith. Rose proposes that they go to the Ninth Province of Hell, Purgatory, which is the secondary damnation province. Rose and the Yellow Peri cannot enter Purgatory, but there, Occult will have time to speak the Unspoken Principium, Hell’s unspoken truth, which could end the war. Danvers offers to come with them and help.
