The Renegades are two unrelated teams in the DC Universe. The original group was a team of Native American shamans who became super-villains and fought the Freedom Fighters. They were imprisoned by magic-users in the ancient world, then returned in modern-day to try and reclaim America when they were released. This version of the Renegades was created by Bob Rozakis and Dick Ayers, first appearing in Freedom Fighters #11. (1977)
The Flash later meets another group calling themselves the Renegades during Dastardly Death of the Rogues. They are police officers assembled in the 25th Century as a Reverse-Flash Task Force, basing their weaponry on the super-villain Rogues in the 20th Century. Their membership includes Commander Cold as their leader, Heatstroke, The Top, Trixster and Weather Warlock. This team was created by Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul, first appearing in The Flash (Volume 3) #1. (2010)
