Retaliators Ready! 
The Retaliators are Earth 8's mightiest heroes.
History
The team was assembled in the face of the first threat to their world so massive that no one superhero could withstand it, and they defend it from the likes of Lord Havok and the Extremists, in spite of public mistrust and frequent infighting.[1]
The Retaliators soon became involved in the affairs of the Multiverse, interacting with other heroes from across realities such as the Justice Incarnate. However, their exposure to the Multiverse had led to their world being attacked multiple times. Eventually, the Retaliators grew disillusioned and believed that the only solution to protect their world is to isolate themselves from the Multiverse. They made a treacherous deal with Darkseid to support his cause in exchange for protecting their reality. Their pact with Darkseid only ended with their world devastated and several of their members dead at the hands of their archenemy Tartarus, who also made a deal with Darkseid.[2]
Notes
- The Retaliators are a homage to the Avengers of Marvel Comics. The team's battle cries "Retaliators Ready" and "Retaliators Rampage" are based on the Avengers' "Avengers Assemble" phrase.
