Richard Dragon, Kung-Fu Fighter #1 is an issue of the series Richard Dragon, Kung-Fu Fighter (Volume 1) with a cover date of May, 1975.
Synopsis for "Coming of a Dragon!"
Teenager Richard Dragon attempts to steal a jade statue from the Dojo of the elderly Martial Arts Master "The O-Sensei".
He is bewildered when the elderly man easily beats him up, and he realizes he is homeless with no real place to go. The O'Sensei and sole pupil Benjamin Turner convince him to stay on as a pupil.
Seven years pass, and the angry young man has turned into a great fighter with control of his temper.
Private security man Barney Ling comes to the Dojo with a mission for the two pupils - capture the leader of a white slavery racket operating out of the Sudan. This involves allowing themselves to be captured and placed in the heart of the hell-hole slave quarters. They free themselves and all the other prisoners. The resulting riot enables Dragon and Turner to fight their way to the main living quarters; where they overcome Aki's bodyguards.
The panicky slaveleader falls through a window into the middle of the freed slaves, who literally tear him to pieces. Dragon and Turner contemplate that they have just begun a life of adventure that they can never reverse.
