Dick Grayson was trained by Bruce Wayne, better known as the vigilante Batman. Grayson eventually became Batman's sidekick, the first Robin. After Grayson outgrew his role as Batman's sidekick, he graduated to the role of Nightwing, donning a new costume.
History
Origins
Dick Grayson was part of a family of circus acrobats "Flying Graysons" until one day his parents died in the circus leaving Dick an orphan. He would later meet Batman who would train him to become his first Robin, the Boy Wonder.
When he grew up he became independent of Batman becoming Nightwing. As Nightwing he would continue to collaborate with Batman in the fight against crime.[1]
