Dick Grayson was one of the leaders of the Court of Owls resisting the tyranny of Omega.

After humanity turned to evil and violently assaulted his mentor and adopted father Batman, Dick, as Nightwing, fought alongside the rest of his family during the following conflicts, like the Clay Wars and the Season of Demons. Eventually, a new villain named Omega, in actuality a twisted Bruce Wayne, came into power and subjugated Dick and the rest of the family with the Anti-Life Equation. They were his slaves until Tim Drake developed a blocker against the Equation that he used to free Dick and hundreds of other people. The resulting resistance movement became the new Court of Owls, as the symbol of the bat had become perverted. At some point, Dick had a daughter with Barbara Gordon, though it isn't clear if they married.

With knowledge that Omega was working on an even more powerful signal that could overcome any blocker, Dick and the Court launched an attack on Omega's base. They lost the battle and many members.[1]

Days later, when a clone of Batman and Wonder Woman arrived at the transformed Gotham, the Court ambushed them. However, Dick called it off when he recognized his former mentor.[2]

In the Owl-Cave, Dick and Barbara informed Bruce about the formation of the Court and how they had lost any morale in the war against Omega. However, Bruce, with some help from Bryce, managed to get the two to reluctantly agree to another attack.

The Court went to Selina Kyle, who had weapons they could use. Dick, knowing Selina had made an arrangement with Omega to alert him if the Court came to her, tried to reason with her, but she threatened to pull the string that would alert Omega to their location. Fortunately, Selina had no intention of ratting on them and allowed them to take what they needed, touched by seeing the younger Bruce

The plan was for Diana to lead Dick and the Court into Arkham Asylum where Omega's amplifier was kept. They were able to walk straight into the heavily-guarded building thanks to M.A.D.T., the final invention of Jervis Tetch. It was a "neuro-wave" that would be broadcast by Jim Gordon that forced enemies' brains to not see them as threats. The Court used the "universal answer", a password-cracking device created by Riddler, to open the door and discover that J'onn J'onzz was the amplifier. However, at that moment, the door shut and separated Diana from the group, as Omega quickly figured out the plan.

Gordon was then caught and Omega's enforcers, his old rogues, were able to see the Court, prompting them to attack. During the resulting battle, Dick took a stab from Scarecrow's syringes meant for his daughter, causing him to foam at the mouth. However, he managed to survive.

After Omega's death and the end of his regime, Dick, in his old Nightwing costume, stood with his fellow heroes as an infant Kal-El from another universe arrived.[1]
