Son of the original Hour-Man, Richard Tyler developed his abilities to the point where he had superpowers all the time.

When Superman came out of retirement, Hourman stood with him, he fought at the Gulag, and died there from the U.N. nuclear bombing. He is remembered in a tombstone as part of a memorial in Kansas which Superman created.
