Rick Tyler is a student at Blue Valley High School and the second Hourman, succeeding his late father Rex Tyler as a member of the Justice Society of America.
History
After his parents were killed in a car accident outside of Blue Valley caused by Solomon Grundy, Rick was raised by his abusive uncle Matt and became a young delinquent at Blue Valley High School. When Rick learns his father was the hero Hourman and Grundy killed him and his mother, he takes up the Hourman mantle and hourglass and joins the new Justice Society of America to avenge his late parents.

- Drug Addiction: (Formerly) After Rick removed the limiter that controlled the Hourglass being limited to one hour per day, the addictive element of the scientific powder corrupted his mind and made him believe he could do anything alone, enhancing his impulsive nature.

- Superhuman Strength: Thanks to Hourglass, Rick's muscular structure was greatly enhanced, allowing him to exert incredible strength.
- Superhuman Durability: The Hourglass also greatly enhanced Rick's durability, causing his muscular structure to become more durable than a normal human.
- Superhuman Reflexes: The Hourglass further enhanced Rick's reflexes, allowing him to react to attacks instantly.
- Super-Leaping: Using the Hourglass, Rick became able to jump several feet off the ground in a single bound.
