Rigen Kale is a member of the Sinestro Corps.

Rigen's flesh is peppered with the fragments of two yellow rings, and he is as ferocious as he is haunted.[1]

He is commonly seen with fellow member Dez Trevius, and, together with him, they were the first to show their loyalty to Sinestro when he took over the leadership of the Sinestro Corps, acting as his right arms.[2]

Rigen Kale's homeworld is a place of barbaric violence, and yet he found something among the Sinestro Corps that few others attain--friendship. Rigen and Jezra delighted in spreading fear through the Universe, and in their fervor to sow terror, they awoke great passion in one another. But their relationship changed drastically while they were exterminating a hive of space-folding Tharkian Burrowers. In an instant, Rigen lost his friend, and yet, in a way he could not have guessed, he was forever bound to her. When the Burrower's portal had closed, both Rigen and Jerza's rings detonated, and now the fragments of those rings were embedded in the flesh of Rigen Kale's arms.[3]

He could still put the power of fear's light to his use. Although he proved that he was still a valuable member of the Sinestro Corps, he felt little kinship with his fellow Lanterns. He certainly felt nothing like he had felt for Jerza. He still felt her call, beckoning to him from the far corners of space, again and again. The fragments of Jerza's ring, sensing that their wielder was dead, sought out worthy replacement hosts, all of whom Rigen promptly slaughtered. The parallels to monsters of folklore are readily apparent; the beast who is compelled by hunger or the phase of the moon... to seek prey... to kill. But for Rigen, those acts of murder are but a way to protect that which is dear to him.[3]

Powers

Rigen Kale's friend, Jerza, was sucked through a wormhole. In an instant, Rigen lost a friend, but "he was forever bound to her. When the Burrower's portal had closed, both Rigen and Jerza's rings detonated. Now the fragments of those rings were embedded in the flesh of Rigen Kale's arms. He could still put the power of fear's light to good use." ...

  • Able to use the power of fear's light, without visibly wearing a ring.

"The fragments of Jerza's ring, sensing that it's wielder was dead, sought out replacement hosts, all of whom Rigen promptly slaughtered."[3]

  • In a sense, this would mean that Rigen's connection to Jerza's ring allows him to find those that are deemed worthy to wield her ring.
