After Rima's mother died, her grandfather, Nuflo, brought her to the forest. She grew up there, the animals came to accept her, and the birds taught her to sing.

  • This version of Rima, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
  • This character is an adaptation of Rima, a character from the novel Green Mansions by William Henry Hudson published in 1897. More information can be found in the Wikipedia.org article Rima.
  • The DC Comics version of Rima was expanded upon by Nestor Redondo.
  • Rima the Jungle Girl is sometimes confused with the unrelated Hanna-Barbera animated character Jana of the Jungle. This happens because Rima's design from her appearances on the Super Friends animated TV show is similar to Jana's design.
