Synopsis for "Spirit of the Woods"

A man named Abel runs through the jungles of Venezuela dying of snake bite poison. He collapses in front of the hut of an old man who brings him inside and nurses him back to health. The old man asks Abel how he came to be in this situation, and Abel tells him that he was once part of the Venezuelan revolution. While his fellow soldiers were captured and executed, Abel escaped and fled into the jungle. He eventually sought shelter in a tribal village, but soon discovered that a more mystical land filled with riches could be found across the river. A young hunter named Runi warned Abel to stay away from such an evil land, but Abel disregarded the warning and trekked across the river. There he found Rima the Jungle Girl. As he approached Rima, he saw a snake slithering near her feet. Seeking to protect her, Abel pushed Rima out of the way and the snake bit him instead. She brought him back to her grandfather's hut where he now tells his story.
