Risque was a member of a space-faring trio of pirates known as the Free Lancers.
History
The Free Lancers traveled from space sector to space sector using their ship's on board computer to analyze valuable weapons from various worlds. From this, they were able to determine a potential foe's strengths and weaknesses. The Free Lancers learned about a collection of three Oan Power Rings, weapons that were even more powerful than traditional first generation Green Lantern Rings because they did not have any inherent weaknesses (unlike a standard Green Lantern Ring which is defenseless against anything colored yellow).
While to acquire these highly coveted, powerful weapons, the Free Lancers encountered the Green Lantern known as Kaylark and manipulated her into turning against the rings' creators, the Guardians of the Universe.[1]
Notes
- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
