Roba Jewel was a thief hired by Ambrose Venture to locate and steal from the Fountain of Youth.
History
When Roba heard how much Ambrose Venture was going to pay her to locate the Fountain, and that she herself would get to be the first interloper to drink from it she was quite eager to take on the job. After she managed to get Wonder Woman to take her to Paradise Island she learned that as an unvetted visitor she would have to wear a Venus Girdle, the mind altering effects of which she had to fight off to continue to carry out her work. When she tried to drink from the Fountain the water in her hands disappeared and the fountain instantly dried up, as she had taken no oaths of non-lethality to Aphrodite and was no Amazon. When Ambrose arrived he and his men captured Wonder Woman and tried to torture her into giving up the secret to getting the water, and refused to believe that they couldn't steal it. Roba did not appreciate the new direction Ambrose's venture had taken and freed the Amazon champion.
