Synopsis for "Year of Blood, Part Four"
Damian reminisces of a time when his art tutor offered to bring his spoils to Ra's al Ghul on his behalf and to gather more supplies. The tutor however committed a serious crime when he witnessed Ra's ritual and was sentenced to be made blind, Damian is offered a chance to take the punishment himself and to save the man but does not. The tutor, now old, still lives on Al Ghul Island.
Continuing his quest of repentance, Damian, Maya and Goliath travel to Egypt to return some canopic jars - ancient organs of the three hidden kings. Leaving Goliath outside the others descend into the submerged tomb; Damian explains how when he first visited it was an expedition funded by a local philanthropist who believed that there was more to the tombs but did not discover anything since Damian's theft of the jars left the area feeling tainted.
Goliath makes a clumsy entrance as he falls down the shaft and Maya stays with him as Damian enters the tomb and acrobatically manoeuvres the booby traps. Unbeknownst to him Maya, whilst trying to hack into a bank, is attacked by Deathstroke who covers her in paint (making her visible). Goliath soon joins in the fight but Deathstroke is steps ahead and keeps him distracted and it seems like the two are defeated until Damian returns.
The young Robin leads Slade into the tomb where he is caught off guard by the traps allowing Damian to get some distance. After Deathstroke manages to escape Damian pacifies him by paying off Maya's debts (the same amount he was going to repay the philanthropist to restart the excavation process). The loss of the money does not bother Damian however, since he has discovered the real secret of the tombs, a Lazarus Pit.
