Synopsis for "Year of Blood, Part Five"

Having stolen the Skull of Den during his Year of Blood Damian return to Al Ghul Island to rest and plan their next mission of atonement. On the island Maya is terrified of the deformed Sons of The Batman but grows to love them. Near the submarine where Damian stores his conquests they find a sword through one of Ravi's paintings and split up to find the gentle protector.

As Damian heads to the citadel he is engaged in deadly sword-to-sword combat and it is revealed by lightning that his opponent is his mother, Talia al Ghul, who has the Skull of Den in her hands. Damian manages to wrestle the helm from her grasp but as he does Den Darga rises from a Lazarus Pit and Talia explains how the al Ghuls battled Den Darga and his immortal family and how they aimed for the wiping of life from Earth.

Den Darga erupts from the pit and summons incomprehensible beings who begin to tear the island apart. Talia grabs Damian and they flee back to Maya and Goliath but get bound to the ship by Den Darga. As the submarine sinks and the battle seems lost the Sons of the Batman dive towards Den Darga and provide enough of a distraction, however Damian and Talia remain tied down - Maya dives underwater and after a minute of hesitation she frees the two and Damian wakes up on the deck of a ship nearby as Talia begins her master plan.
