Wealthy playboy Rod Reilly is secretly the adventurer known as Firebrand.

History

Son of millionaire steel tycoon "Emerald Ed" Reilly, Rod grew bored of his privileged lifestyle and took up the identity of Firebrand to fight crime. His valet and best friend, ex-prize-fighter Slugger Dunn, assisted him in his various cases and was the only person to know Rod's secret identity - even Rod's recent fiancé, wealthy socialite Joan Rogers, was unaware of his actions as Firebrand. In fact, she feared ever encountering him.

Firebrand was believed to be a criminal mastermind by civilians and law enforcement, often needing to flee most scenes quickly.
