Black Roger was a former attorney turned pirate hunter.

History

After graduating from university having studied law, Roger Randolph returned to his home village only to find young Barty Bewick being terrorized by Lord Willbar's bailiff. After taking the case to court, Lord Willbar hired a captain to sell them both into slavery. Along the way, their ship is intercepted by Barbary pirates. Roger managed to free the barbary pirates' prisoners and led them against the pirates. With the pirates dispatched and the hired captain dead, the remaining crew calls for Roger, now nicknamed "Black Roger," to lead them as their new captain.

Roger and Belwick returned to their home port to pay one more to Lord Willbar, with Roger donning a mask. They brought him to justice once more before departing for further adventures.
