Rot Lop Fan is an alien super-hero known as Green Lantern and a member of the Green Lantern Corps.

History

The Guardians of the Universe gave him a power ring fueled by willpower to protect Space Sector 911. His home is the Obsidian Deeps where there is no sunlight and creatures do not have eyes, so he actually does not understand the concept of colors like green or light-emitters like lanterns. Katma Tui recruited him by explaining the Green Lantern concepts through sound metaphors, and he believes himself to be a member of the "F-Sharp Bell" Corps. Rot Lop Fan was created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, first appearing in Tales of the Green Lantern Corps Annual #3. (1987)
