Rudy West (Absolute Universe)

Colonel Rudy West is the commander of Fort Fox and father of Wally West.

Rudy oversaw a military research project codenamed Project Olympus. Wally was accidentally caught in an experiment being conducted by Dr. Barry Allen, killing Barry and granting Wally superhuman speed. Wally fled and Rudy dispatched the Rogues and a genetically enhanced monkey known as Grodd to bring him back. However, Grodd betrayed the Rogues to help Wally, and together the two of them fought off the Rogues and escaped.[1] Rudy searched the ruins of Barry's lab to work out what had happened to Wally. and quickly realised that Barry was working on something outside his initial mission briefs. He confronted Dr. Elenore Thawne, the head of Project Olympus; she revealed that she had allowed Barry to expand the scope of his work and he had created multiple superpowered mutants. Thawne told Rudy that Wally was their most successful test subject yet and casually told Rudy that they knew where he was as they were tracking Grodd. Rudy wanted to go and get Wally immediately, but she revealed that Barry's former test subjects had escaped the lab on the night of the accident and that Grodd was leading Wally to them.[2]
