This nightmare version of Ryan Choi was born in a Last 52 world similar to Earth 0. He was an apprentice of the Ray Palmer of this reality but, after he went missing, Ryan went crazy and became the villain Ra.
History
Ryan Choi was a student in Ivy Town and befriended the professor Ray Palmer, also known as the superhero Atom. After the latter's disappearance, Ryan was overcome by his limitations and fears so he stopped doing his researches and became a supervillain, known as Ra, choosing his alter ego name because of the periodic symbol of the radiactive element Radium.
Using his powers, he committed a long series of murders on his reality and, later, was recruited by the Darkest Knight to battle the Earth 0's resistence army along with other nightmare creatures from the Last 52 Multiverse.
During the clash between the two Multiverses' army, Ra reached his counterpart, who was searching with Mister Terrific and Doc Magnus a way to use the Metal Men to slow down the Last 52 villains, and fired an energy beam that caused an immense explosion that the superheroes survived. The moment the two Ryan Choi saw each other, Ra's background history was shared with the Atom: as Earth 0 Ryan was shocked by the presence of his dark counterpart, Ra mocked him, telling him that the "impossible" being was going to kill him, firing at him another beam but the size-altering superhero avoided the attack, shrinking himself. The Last 52 villain prepared himself to shoot an energy beam to kill Mister Terrific and Doc Magnus but the Atom surprisingly grew more larger than ever and stomped Ra, defeating him.[1]

- After winning the battle against Ra, the Earth 0 Ryan Choi told Mister Terrific that his transformation was not normally possible and it was possibly triggered by the radiations the villain was emitting.[1]
- In a similar way, according to the Atom, the memory sharing between the two of them may have been caused by the same radiations.[1]
