Sabine Roth was the last Mademoiselle Marie active during World War II.

She was a schoolgirl from Fontevraud-l'Abbaye who also worked as a maid to Colonel Burkel, the brutal SS officer. She witnessed the execution of Mademoiselle Marie, who was captured after a failed assassination attempt. She picked up Marie's beret and decided to use her proximity to Burkel to finish Marie's task. She strangled him with a cord she hid in the beret. After that, she became the new Mademoiselle Marie, working with the Allies in the final days of the war.

After the war, she did not find a replacement until the 21st century, when she inducted Josephine Tautin as her replacement.
