Sal Amendola (b. 1948) is a writer.

Professional History

Sal Amendola was a comic book creator. He worked on almost every job in the industry, from writer/artist to letterer, colorist and editor. He started working for DC Comics on the title The Witching Hour, under Dick Giordano's editorial command in 1970. In 1972 he moved on to work for Marvel Comics, but unhappy with his job, he soon returned to DC Comics, where he worked on some of the company's most iconic titles including Aquaman, Detective Comics, Action Comics and many others.

He started teaching in the mid 70s at the New York's School of Visual Arts and later at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. In the late 80's, Amendola retired from the comic book industry and became a full time teacher at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
