Sally Juspeczyk, also known as Sally Jupiter, was the mother of Laurie Blake and the original Silk Spectre of the Minutemen.
History
Sally Jupiter joined the Minutemen after the team was founded by Captain Metropolis.
Silk Spectre and Hooded Justice were temporarily publicized as a romantic couple, but Jupiter would clarify years later it was all an act and that she had never seen Justice's face.
On October 2, 1940, during the team's tenure, Sally was sexually assaulted by her teammate the Comedian. At the time, he was 20 and she was 16. The assault was stopped by Hooded Justice. Though Jupiter wanted to testify against the Comedian, the Minutemen all suggested against it for political reasons.
Eight years later, Sally and the Comedian would have consensual sex, with Sally being impregnated with their daughter Laurie. [3]
Sally eventually retired from vigilantism and married the Minutemen's longtime agent Louis Schexnayder. When Laurie was old enough, she replaced her mother as the second Silk Spectre.
In 2019, a documentary series called American Hero Story: Minutemen aired, dramatizing all the known information about the Minutemen's adventures and drama.

- Though an actor portraying Silk Spectre in a television series first appeared in It's Summer and We're Running Out of Ice, Sally Jupiter herself wouldn't appear until This Extraordinary Being.
- Both real-life actors went uncredited in their roles.
