San Edra was the site of a conflict between the secretly-Soviet-sponsored Balap headhunters and the Blackhawk Squadron.
History
San Edra, in its day, was a city dedicated to peace, at the furthest frontier of civilization, in the Amazon Jungle.
In 1952, during the Cold War, an aggressive foreign government was arming and supporting the hostile Balap Tribe. These were headhunters, and were mostly armed with machetes and blow guns, but now were also packing modern weapons. The Balaps overran, pillaged, and burned most of the city of San Edra. A radio call for help had been sent, and the Municipal Building was still holding out, when the Blackhawk Squadron counterattacked, first from the air and then on the ground. The Balaps were defeated, with serious losses taken, and their foreign-sponsored coordinator, Dr. Leoma Carr, was arrested.
