History
In the post-WWII mid-1940s, San Galardo was a peaceful tropical island republic, whose capital city, El Babarro was festive and tranquil, by day and by night.
An international gang of hoodlums learned of the presence of valuable mineral deposits, on the island, and undertook to enslave the population and mine the ore. This brought them into conflict with the roving Blackhawk Squadron, which is what got most or all of them killed.

- The type of ore underlying San Galardo is never identified.
- The villains' raiding ship, a 4-masted square-rigged frigate, armed with at least one 1940s-modern cannon, is presumably now the property of the San Galardo government.
