History

Sara Lance is the daughter of Dinah Drake and former Starling City detective Quentin Lance. She is the younger sister of Laurel Lance.

At one point, Sara began secretly seeing Laurel's playboy boyfriend, Oliver Queen, with only her mother aware of the affair. Oliver invited Sara to join him on his sailing trip with his father, Robert Queen, on their yacht, the Queen's Gambit. Against her mother's wishes, she agreed. That night, while they contemplate the consequences of their relationship, the sabotaged ship began to sink. While Sara seemed to have been the first casualty, with Oliver unable to do anything as he watched her sink and apparently drown, Oliver, Robert, and a third crewman were able to escape in a life raft.

As it turns out, Sara somehow survived the wreckage and was trained by the League of Assassins in Nanda Parbat.

Six years after the incident, Sara has returned to Starling City, wanting to make sure that her family was safe after the earthquake that hit the Glades.
