History
Satan is the supreme demon lord on Earth-S; He was a behind-the-scenes enemy to Captain Marvel during the first years of the hero. Satan (under name Prince Lucifer) granted powers to Ibac[1] and Sabbac.
In the seventies, Satan revealed his presence more explicitly, when hedemanded the soul of Ebenezer Batson, Billy Batson's uncle; Ebenezer had made a pact with the demon to gain a vast fortune in 1951. When the Marvel and Sivana Families were stranded in Suspendium, Ebenezer was also stranded with them, for 20 years. Once free, Ebenezer could not enjoy the fortune very time, as the pact deadline had run over. Captain Marvel accepted a challenge the Satan's six champions to free the soul of his uncle, and was successful.[2]
When Kid Eternity joined to the Marvel Family, Satan saw this as a problem and organized the Confederation of Hell (Ibac, Sabbac, Master Man and Darkling) to fight them.[3]
