Schultz's Grocery was a deli-grocery located on Vine Street, in New York City, In 1940, the store was purchased by Abigail "Ma" Hunkel and her brother-in-law Gus Hunkel, with his winnings from the track. Schultz's was frequently the target of racketeers, but Ma Hunkel defended her store both in her normal identity, and in her guise as the Red Tornado.
