Fred tells the team to split up, with Scooby and Shaggy searching in one direction while Velma and Daphne accompany him. Shaggy while trying to find the kitchen stumbles upon a monster and runs away with Scooby, bumping into Daphne and Velma, with the former stating that Fred is missing.

As Daphne asks Shaggy to describe the monster they encountered, they find it standing right behind him and run away. Daphne states that Velma too has been separated from them while they fled, but reasons that she might just be hiding and many of the monsters they faced before were criminals using a disguise. Shaggy states that he and Scooby don't want to face such people, including real estate developers, smugglers and weird lighthouse keepers. This causes a man claiming to be the lighthouse keeper to come out and rebuke his remarks.

The lighthouse keeper demands to know what the kids are doing there and Velma asks if he sent them the message about the monster at the lighthouse, to which he responds no, but states that strange things have been happening there recently. After he leaves the room, Daphne goes missing and Shaggy states that they must find their teammates so they can leave the place quickly. A real estate developer then appears before them and advices that they sell the lighthouse to her. Scooby however finds that even Shaggy has gone missing after she leaves.

A smuggler soon appears and tells Scooby to leave the lighthouse and he guesses that he kidnapped his teammates, based on the smell of Shaggy's sandwich on him. After running away from the smuggler, he finds a door with a note instructing opening it to resolve the mystery. Scooby does so and finds all the mysyerious people and the monster he met gathered in one room.
