Synopsis for "The Secret Origin of the Suicide Squad"
Sarge Steel is trying to convince President Ronald Reagan he should shut down the Suicide Squad. Amanda Waller tries to convince him otherwise. To do so she hands him a file detailing the actions of the squad's history. The group was led by Capt. Richard Montgomery Flag.
During Truman's presidency it came to be known as Task Force X and on to the current day.
Reagan decides to keep the squad running.

- At the time of publication, Wonder Woman's appearance among those in the Justice Society who appeared at the House Un-American Activities Committee hearing was considered an error since the original Golden Age Wonder Woman was erased from post-Crisis history. At one point the only possible modern explanation for her appearance is that it was the current Wonder Woman's mother Hippolyta who went back in time to become the post-Crisis Golden Age Wonder Woman. As published however, the character depicted is clearly the original. Later changes to continuity solved the contradiction.
