Synopsis for "To Kill a Mockingbird"
The Secret Six are being targeted by unknown assassins. August Durant gather the Six and conclude that one of their own is the culprit. He singles out Mike Tempest given that his life was not in danger. But Mike protests his innocence and points out that anyone could be the killer and that one of them could have faked their own attempt on their life. Durant concedes to Mike's rationale and decides to have the Six pair off to keep watch on each other from now on. When Mike is paired with King Savage at a movie set, he is suddenly kidnapped.
Mike is taken to a seaside estate in Southern California, where he is brought before his captors known as the Syndicate, who have old grudges with Mike during his time as a boxer and plan to execute him via firing squad. Fortunately, Secret Six have tracked Mike and rescues him while placing one of the Syndicate's men, Hanrahan, in Mike's place for the execution. After Hanrahan is killed, the Syndicate is caught in the act by the police, who were tipped off by the Secret Six.
Mike later explains to his friends that the Six were being targeted in order to draw him out. During his days as a boxer, he was a whistleblower when the Syndicate tried to force him to throw the fight and was forced on the run as a result. During the Six's formation against Zoltan Lupus in which Hanrahan was one of Zoltan's henchmen. Hanrahan had obtained footage on everyone of the Secret Six taken from Zoltan's hidden cameras and therefore allowed the Syndicate to identify them.
