Notes

  • It is unclear in this issue if the trio of Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang and Captain Stingaree consider themselves to be acting as the Secret Society of Super-Villains, or as a new team. The narration refers to them as Captains Cataclysmic, but it is ambiguous if that is an actual team name or just the narrator being bombastic.
  • In Secret Society of Super-Villains #4, Sinestro and Wizard quit the Secret Society due to lack of interest in then-leader Manhunter's rebellion against Darkseid and their own overweening, antisocial narcissism. However, sometime within the span of last issue and this one, there seems to be an unspoken assumption that the Wizard is once more a legitimate representative of the Secret Society, due to the absence of clear organizational leadership following Manhunter's suicidal desperation attack against Darkseid, Funky Flashman's insistence upon being the Secret Society's publicity manager on the Wizard's behalf, and the a priori exclusion of Sinestro by his indiscriminate rampage through San Francisco and subsequent defeat by Green Lantern and Captain Comet.
