Synopsis for "The Legend of the Tiger's Paw"

In Chinatown a boy's friends reject him for a ballgame because he needs a crutch to stand after a car accident. An old man tells the boys a legend of a weretiger who was slain by her husband because she was different from other women even though she loved him. As she is about to be drown at the river she curses the man and the next morning he wakes to find one of his hands has been replaced by a tiger's paw. The boys repent of their decision to exclude their friend and offer to allow him to umpire the game. In the last panel of the story, the old man is revealed to be the husband of the story and he has a tiger's paw in place of his right hand.
