  • "The Story of Eros on Mount Olympus" treats Eros as a primordial god rather than the son of Aphrodite. According to Hesiod's Theogony (c. 700 BC), one of the oldest Greek sources, Eros (Love) was the fourth god to exist, coming after Chaos, Gaia (Earth) and Tartarus.
