- Picture Stories from Mythology: "The Great Wrestling Match" "contains some anachronisms and gross errors:
- Jupiter (Zeus) and Hades are apparently not brothers in history; Furthermore, according to mythology, Hades was one of the brothers swallowed by Cronus, which does not happen in this story.
- Ixion was only condemned to the spinning wheel after Jupiter dethroned Cronus and married Juno (Hera).
- the story is undecided whether to use the Greek or Roman forms to name the characters.
