Synopsis for "Bob Kanigher's Gallery of War: Horseless"
This story is reprinted from Our Army at War #269.
During the winter, a unit of the US Cavalry attack a Amerindian village and leaving no survivors except for one. The survivor follow after the soldiers to their makeshift camp during the night of a winter storm. He manage to steal their horses, forcing the angry soldiers to chase after him to a boxed canyon. As the blizzard grows more worse, the soldiers decide to wait it out in the canyon until morning.
On the next day, the survivor survive the night by skinning one of the frozen stiff horses and covering himself in its hide. He then find the soldiers having frozen to death.
