The Shakespeare Bust is a statue depicting William Shakespeare, owned by Bruce Wayne and found in Wayne Manor.

The bust sits on the desk in Bruce's study, and is used to open the Batpole entrance of the Batcave — hidden behind a bookcase in the study — with a concealed switch hidden beneath the head.

When the gun-wielding Joker invaded Wayne Manor with Baby Jane Towser as a hostage during the events of "Flop Goes the Joker", and was disarmed during a confrontation with Alfred, he ran into the study, found the bust and activated the Batpole entrance switch. The Joker mistook the Batpole entrance for a secret passage, and slid down one of the poles. Fortunately, Alfred quickly activated the Batpole elevator so the Joker never made it to the Batcave, and instead brought the Clown Prince of Crime crashing to the top of the shaft. Alfred then proceeded to send the Joker on a few more trips up and down the shaft until he finally surrendered.
