Shane McCarthy (b. July 24, 1975) is a writer.

Shane McCarthy is an Autralian comic book and sci-fi writer. He began his career in 2004 working for DC Comics on the title Detective Comics, making his debut on the crossover Batman: War Games. Later on he worked on titles like Legends of the Dark Knight. Around the same time, he also worked for Dark Horse Comics on the title Star Wars Tales. He is probably best known for his work with IDW Publishing on the title The Transformers.
