On a remote rainforest, Shazam finds himself joyriding on a Tyrannosaurus Rex, which suddenly falls of a cliff. Shazam speeds off into the jungle and contructs a net with dozens of vines, saving the dinosaur's life. Shazam wasn't fighting the dinosaur. He was trying to save him and bring him back to his parents, who are actually dinosaur-like aliens that had lost their child when their spaceship crashlanded on Earth. The parents are grateful for Shazam's help and invite him for a cup of tea, to which Shazam agrees.

After fixing the aliens' ship and helping them return to space, Shazam returns to the Rock of Eternity, which Shazam had converted into his clubhouse and filled it with personal trophies from his many adventures. Freddy, who has been waiting for Shazam at the Rock, refers to him as "the Captain" ever since Shazam had a maritime accident, which Shazam seems reluctant to talk about. Shazam has been working had to restore Freddy's powers ever since the Lazarus event fundamentally changed magic throughout the universe. Freddy thinks he should explore the Rock of Eternity to find a way to restore his powers, but Shazam doesn't think that's a good idea. For now, they must focus on school and homework.

As Shazam and Billy depart from the Rock, two mysterious people watch from the shadows. They are not happy that Shazam has been squandered the powers given to him by the gods, which is why they plan to restore the gods' reputation.

Shazam and Freddy arrive at school and Shazam turns back into Billy just in time for class to begin. Despite's Billy desire to remain an adult superhero forever, the Wisdom of Solomon continuously advises Billy not to throw away his personal away in the service of superheroism. He needs to make mistakes, learn from those mistakes and not to hold himself to such a high standard, like any normal person.

Billy's foster home has changed in these past few months. Victor and Rosa Vasquez know all about Shazam and Tawky Tawny now lives in the Vasquez household, helping with housechores in exchange for food and shelter. Because money is always a concern, Freddy advised Billy to run a sponsored fancast where he can talk about Shazam's latest adventures. It's a fun way for Billy to talk about his heroic efforts without bragging. From the news, Billy learns that an earthquake has hit Southern California, so he turns into Shazam and speeds off.

In less than half an hour, Shazam has significantly sped up the recovery effort, allowing first responders to save countless victims. When a reporter asks for a comment, however, Shazam is suddenly overcome with anger and tells the mortals in front of him that they should be grateful that he dirties his hands with them. Witnesses are shocked and Shazam regains control of himself, wondering what exactly did he say.
