Synopsis for "Youth Without Youth!"

At the Rock of Eternity, Mr. Dinosaur attempts to organize some of the Rock's magical objects until he drops a jar containing the Peri, an entity capable of destroying nations. Billy summons the magic lightning to transform, but the lightning is reflected through a mirror that leads to the outside world. As the Captain chases after the Peri, a bolt of lightning hits Jonathan Kent, the son of Superman, and turns him into a pre-teen boy.

Jon helps the Captain contain the Peri just as Mary arrives and tries to make sense of what happened. Mary tells the Captain that Jon didn't get to enjoy a proper childhood because he spent a few years trapped inside a volcano, so instead of immediately finding a solution to his problem, the Captain suggests Jon spend some time with them.

The Shazam Family takes Billy to the amusement park, the arcade and even the golf course so he can have fun. He is invited to the Vasquez household, but gets to scared to answer a phone call from his boyfriend Jay. Jon says that he doesn't want Jay to see him in his current condition. Billy and Jon visit Damian, who is displeased by Jon's lack of urgency to return to his adult self. Even so, he advises Billy and Jon to investigate how Jon was turned into a child in the first place so that they can find a way to turn him back into an adult.

Billy and Jon return to the Rock and conclude that the Peri must be the key in reversing Jon's condition and Mr. Dinosaur tells them that the Peri is causing trouble in Philadelphia again. With Jon's help, the Shazam Family traps the Peri in a cage again, but when they try to reverse the spell, Billy's lightning bolt shatters the mirror and Jon remains a child. Billy notes that Jon doesn't seem that upset that he is a child until Jon admits that he is nervous at having to move in with Jay. Jon has been feeling a lot of pressure lately and just needed to get away from it all, at least for a moment. Billy replies that Jon is more mature than his age would suggest and inspires Jon to talk to Jay.

Jay is invited to the Rock of Eternity and Jon explains his condition to him. When the Shazam Family explains what they have tried to turn Jon back into adult, Jay suggests that Jon simply say "Shazam", just like Billy and Mary do. The plan works and Jon regains his adulthood. Jon thanks Billy for his help and he returns home, where he and Jay built a pillow fort so they can enjoy some private time together.
